This Autism Awareness Month, Nauru Medical Centre welcomed families, parents, and children together for a meaningful session centered on the theme, “Autism and Humanity: Every Life Has Value.” The event created a safe and supportive space for learning, sharing experiences, and encouraging greater understanding within the community.
The session focused on helping people better understand how children on the autism spectrum experience the world in their own unique way. It also provided an opportunity for parents and families to connect and build a more inclusive and supportive environment for children on the spectrum.
Angelique Maukutu and Victor Harold Wasson shared insights on the importance of building a supportive community where children can grow with confidence and feel valued for who they are.
Parents also shared their personal experiences, creating open conversations that encouraged awareness, empathy, and support for families navigating autism.
