Professional Overview

Dr. Angelique Makutu is a Paediatrician and Director of Medical Services at NMC, with extensive clinical experience in Fiji and Nauru. In her current role, she provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient paediatric care while overseeing medical services and clinical governance.
She previously served with the Government of Nauru as a Senior Medical Officer – Paediatric Registrar, where she provided paediatric care and frequently acted in the role of Paediatrician. She began her medical career as a General Practitioner with the Government of Nauru and completed her paediatric registrar training at Lautoka Hospital under the Fiji National University.
Dr. Makutu holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Fiji School of Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Child Health Management from Fiji National University. Her training includes advanced courses in paediatric life support, trauma care, obstetric ultrasound, and global emergency medicine. She continues to contribute to child protection initiatives and healthcare education.
