Professional Overview

Dr. Samson Mesol has more than two decades of clinical and surgical leadership experience across the Pacific, including Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Tonga and Papua New Guinea.
He previously served as Head Consultant General Surgeon at Princess Margaret Hospital in Tuvalu and at Northern Provincial Hospital in Vanuatu. His earlier posts include Chief Surgeon at Vila Central Hospital in Vanuatu and Consultant General Surgeon at Vaiola Hospital in Tonga.
Dr. Mesol obtained his Master of Medicine in Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Papua New Guinea under the mentorship of Professor David Watters, former President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has led surgical teams, coordinated CME programmes, and supported national medical training and audit systems.
